It is possible to improve the lives in our community. Everyday at the YWCA of Central Virginia we see women regain control over their lives thanks to the generosity of our supporters. With your donation, we can improve our communities and help create lasting solutions to the problems of domestic violence, homelessness, and racial inequality.

One of the best ways to help right now is through a financial contribution. There are two ways to do so. You can mail your gift to:

Since the YWCA of Central Virginia is a tax-exempt non-profit organization, 501 ( c ) (3), all charitable donations are tax-deductible.

Another way to help is through the in-kind donations. We have put together a wish list with this in mind.

For the Domestic Violence Shelter:
	Ladies large-size clothes
	Ladies new bras and panties
	Children’s new underwear and socks
	Children’s consumable supplies (crayons, paper, etc.)
	Ladies and children’s pajamas (prefer gowns or nightshirts for women)
	CD players
	GLTC bus passes
	Oscillating or Box fans
	Pots and Pans
	Gift Certificates (bowling, movies, skating, etc.)
	Hide-Away Ironing Board with Wooden Case

For the Residence Town Center (Transitional Housing):

In addition to our shelter, our residence, and our Saturday Shop are also currently accepting donations of gently used clothing, housewares, etc. Please call the store at 947-4600 to make arrangements.

Another way to get involved for the betterment of your community is through volunteerism, and the YWCA of Central Virginia is always looking for volunteers for a variety of projects and areas. Please contact the YWCA for details or fill out the contact sheet.
